Kobo eBookstore - this is the eBookstore for Kobo eReaders. ePub and PDF as well as Kobo only eBooks
Baen eBooks - a great Science Fiction eBook site ALL books are multi-format and NO DRM.
Feedbooks - they have lots of eBooks for sale and free. The free books are VERY nicely formatted. I go here FIRST.
Project Gutenberg - millions of free eBooks in several formats. (note: formatting is very primitive)
Project Gutenberg Canada - has some eBooks not available from the main site.
Project Gutenberg Australia - again, they have eBooks not available from the above sites.
Mobile Read - the Mobile Read forum site has free eBooks edited and formatted by Mobile Read users.
The best place to go for any kind of help with eReading and eReaders are the MOBILE READ forums.
There are forums for virtually all types of eReaders where you can find out about the latest firmware and bugs for your device and also help from the forum members.
There are even hardware forums where you can try out custom firmware if you have the courage.
The first thing you need to do after purchasing an eReader is to go and download CALIBRE.
Calibre is eBook management software by Kovid Goyal. He tirelessly updates this excellent piece of free software, releasing new versions nearly every week.
There is also a group of people who have created plugins for the software that have added may usefull features.
This software, which is available for Windows, OS X, Linux, allows you to manage your eBooks, download them to most devices and even edit eBooks or convert them from format to format.
